Spring Bulb Festival

We are planting over a million bulbs for its annual Spring Bulb Festival, giving visitors an amazing uplifting, immersive and colourful experience as you walk through the gardens. 

The Trentham gardening team has planted a contemporary mix of bulbs and displays, and as the months progress, Trentham Gardens will be highlighted with different colours and scents as a range of bulbs bloom. January saw snowdrops and February showed glimpses of Crocus’s and Cyclamen’s coming up. March will be dominated by large daffodils displays and the start of the pot displays with irises and narcissus’s ready for the bees to enjoy.

Get ready to see the main bulb displays in April with the Italian Gardens truly coming alive with tulips packed with fragrance and alive with bees looking for an early source of spring nectar. The woodland meadows will also be carpeted with white wood anemones. May will see the additional late flowering tulips and bluebells carpeting Trentham’s historic woodland, creating a blue haze between the trees.

Lining the banks of the Italian gardens will be the Case de Versailles planters, this scented display now will hold 6,000 bulbs and will be a scented display with velvety opulence.
