Celebrating the beauty and resilience of the English Rose

Planted in collaboration with David Austin Roses in November 2024, this border has been designed to showcase the beauty of the English Rose collection. It highlights a rich variety of forms, colours, and growth habits, creating a display that changes through the seasons.

Fragrance, flower form, and size are at the heart of the design, offering visitors an immersive sensory experience. Each variety has also been carefully chosen for its strength and ability to thrive in the face of a changing climate.

Working in partnership

In 2024, Trentham Gardens partnered with David Austin Roses to reimagine the historic Rose Border as part of the Gardens Revisited project.

Together, the teams created a planting scheme designed to mature beautifully over time, combining exceptional roses with complementary planting to create a vibrant display for visitors throughout the seasons.

Designed to flourish

Every variety has been selected for its beauty, fragrance, health and resilience. A harmonious palette of pink and white roses is complemented by herbaceous planting, extending seasonal interest and providing valuable habitat for pollinators.
