The Purpose

Our purpose is to nurture and grow this wonderfully special place for people, nature, and wildlife to thrive. We have ambitious growth plans for the Staycation market, so we need a well-versed Operations Director who will help us achieve our goals.

As your Operations Director, you’ll lead the Garden, Estate, Facilities and Health & Safety Teams ensuring the correct strategy, core operations, budgets and project delivery are in place to support the growth and financial objectives of Trentham.

The Person

We are looking for a people focused, collaborative individual - someone who is passionate about creating long lasting and positive experience.

The new Operations Director will be responsible for delivery across the estate so having a proven operational background is key alongside ensuring effective communication that enables engagement and enablement across the wider team.

Required Experience

  • Leading and motivating large teams.
  • Extensive financial experience in P&L, budgets.
  • Significant experience of contract negotiation.

Key Accountabilities

  • Investigate and obtain grant funding for the environmental protection of the estate.
  • Negotiation of contracts which support the P&L.
  • Management of project delivery including quality assurance, to budget.
  • Collaboration with Commercial Team to respond to ongoing business requirements.
  • Ensure routine regular and reactive maintenance is completed to the required standard.
  •  Ensure we operate within our responsible business framework and adhere to the Trentham Purpose Statement.
  • Management of dashboard of KPI’s to measure teams performance.
  • Motivate, develop and resource planning of multi functional teams.
  • Strategic operational planning to support the business growth.
  • Continued development of the garden planting schemes, to be best in class whilst mindful of the sustainability agenda.
  • Review and continuously improve operational processes.
  • As part of the effective delivery of our Performance Development framework, provide coaching and regular feedback to maximise performance delivery and development, encouraging collaboration and empowerment.

Essential Skills/ Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation.
  • Knowledge of Facilities and Maintenance management would be beneficial.
  • Commercial acumen with the ability to communicate to all levels.

The Purpose

Our Facilities Team Member play a pivotal role here at Trentham Estate, by delivering the operational soft facilities services which include Cleaning and Waste Management.

The Person

We are looking for someone who is a team player, you’ll be consistent, confident, and professional ensuring all tasks are completed within the agreed timescale. We are looking for someone who can remain calm under pressure and be able to work on your own initiative largely unsupervised.

Required Experience

  • Operational experience of Waste and/or cleaning operations in a multi-use environment. 
  • Outstanding attention to detail, ensuring all areas are always at their highest presentation.
  • Experienced in providing exceptional customer experience.  
  • Good IT skills including a working knowledge of Excel and word.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills .
  • Strong working knowledge of Health & Safety regulations.
  • Capable of problem solving and ability to resolve operational issues quickly and effectively.
  • Able to think outside the box and share new ideas.

Key Accountabilities

  • To support the delivery of cleaning and waste services in retail, gardens, and estate areas.
  • To ensure all bins are emptied regularly across the estate.
  • Ensure that all retail tenant waste bins are effectively used and put out ready for relevant collections.
  • Periodic checks are carried out and any issues correctly reported for all toilet areas within retail and gardens.
  • Ensure all statutory compliance activity is completed and suitably recorded. 
  • Maintain and deliver a programme of deep cleaning works across the estate – this to include pathways, bin areas and internal customer spaces such as gardens entrance & toilets.
  • Provide Health and Safety support and ensuring the site is compliant with latest health and safety legislation.  
  • Manage site wastage streams, monitor, and record recycling figures.
  • Support the drive towards a sustainable operation and net carbon zero goals.
