Busted

Impossible though it may seem, it’s been twenty years since the Busted trio of James Bourne, Charlie Simpson and Matt Willis bounced into the charts with the irrepressible pop-punk energy of their debut single ‘What I Go To School For’. It kickstarted a succession of hits for the trio, including the #1 smashes ‘Crashed The Wedding’, ‘Who’s David’, ‘Thunderbirds Are Go’, ‘You Said No’ and the Top 3 singles ‘Year 3000’, ‘Air Hostess’ and ‘Sleeping With The Light On’. Now Busted celebrate their 20th anniversary by announcing details of a major UK arena tour, alongside a series of new versions of fifteen of their classic hits to be released in the build-up.

With support from Dadi Freyr & SOAP.

Dadi Freyr

Daði Freyr has made a record. The first third, released in March 2023, was an EP named I’m Making An Album 1/3. The second EP will be named I’m Still Making An Album 2/3 and the final, full project, when it arrives on 25 August, I Made An Album.

It’s a very Daði Freyr way of looking at things: drily funny with no unnecessary fuss. The Icelandic star made his name in a sweet turquoise sweatshirt with a pixel portrait of his face representing his country on Eurovision 2021, and his songs are defined by an innate sense of niceness: there are no tricks or twists, no snark, just genuine good feeling and the suggestion that it might be fun to dance around in the kitchen for a bit. His first album is a warm, loving collection of electropop that introduces Daði Freyr as an artist with plenty more to offer. He made an album and it’s going to get you dancing all night.

Soap

Originally named The Tyne, SOAP have been growing and developing their sound since 2019, during this time a mix of influences ranging from The Ramones, Waterparks, Weezer & Cage The Elephant has helped forge their sonic output. Cut to four years later with over one million cross-platform streams and 400k TikTok followers the band are ready to take on the world…

They released two EP’s through Slam Dunk Records ‘BORN ON THE INTERNET’ in 2022, followed by “COMPLAINING (BUT THERE IS MUSIC)’ in 2023, the latter of which included the track (NOT A) LOVE SONG, featuring NOAHFINNCE.

The band have captured fans across media and have been regularly championed by BBC Radio 1’s Future Alternative and BBC Introducing shows, Rock Sound, Upset Mag and Spotify lists including The Locker and The Punk List.

Fresh from finishing their BUSTED arena support to over 200k people and a headline tour of their own to round out a sublime 2023, armed with new music, a new member and a new name they plan to clean up in 2024! Since January, SOAP have already dropped 3 new singles, with loads more new music to follow this year.
