Trentham is bursting with colour at this time of year! 🌿 Across both the gardens and the wider estate, we`re seeing the peak of summer foliage, with infinite vibrant shades of green, alongside flowers in every colour and shade you could imagine. 🌸
Our annual meadows and wildflower areas are now teeming with pollinating insects, from gentle bumblebees and hoverflies to butterflies, bee flies, solitary bees, day-flying moths and so much more! 🐝🦋
We`re also reaching the peak emergence period for many of the damselfly and dragonfly species found at Trentham. The flower meadows provide a vital foraging area, where dragonflies patrol their territories and hunt smaller flying insects. The stunning Brown Hawker (Aeshna grandis) is particularly visible throughout June and July, while the UK`s largest dragonfly, the Emperor (Anax imperator), can often be spotted around the North Jetty area. Keep your eyes peeled on your next visit! 👀✨
