Trentham Welcomes Families for a Fun-Packed May Half Term
Plus there’s free Disc Golf hire for half-term week!
Trentham is the perfect destination for an unforgettable family day out this May half term, offering a wide range of exciting activities and fun for everyone. Nestled in the heart of Staffordshire, Trentham offers a perfect blend of adventure, nature, and relaxation, ensuring memorable experiences for visitors of all ages.
From Saturday 25th May until Sunday 2nd June, Trentham is offering free disc hire for its thrilling 9-hole disc golf course, usually priced at £5 per disc. Families and friends can challenge each other to a game in the stunning woodlands and scenic views. Disc hire is included with garden admission, and visitors can pick up their free disc from the gardens entrance.
Also included in Gardens admission at Trentham are brilliant activities for children of all ages, including:
- Adventure Playground: A haven for energetic children, the playground features the Altitude Tower, a climbing wall, thrilling slides, and a variety of interactive elements designed to inspire and entertain. The more adventurous can take on the zipline, or test their balance on the slackline!
- Hide and Speak Maze: This intriguing maze invites visitors to navigate through a series of talking pipes and discover hidden bug hotels along the way. The final destination is the ‘Treasure Chest’ meadow mound featuring fantastic garden views, buzzing with pollinators on a sunny day. It’s an ideal activity for curious minds and adventurous spirits.
- New and improved Barefoot Walk: Explorers can experience the diverse textures of nature on this unique and recently refurbished trail. The barefoot walk allows visitors to connect with the environment in a tactile and immersive manner.

Other Trentham experiences on offer include a scenic cruise on Trentham’s tranquil lake aboard the Miss Elizabeth, an all-electric catamaran, or the Trentham Fern miniature train for a charming ride along the water’s edge. Both activities offer stunning views and a chance to spot local wildlife. Trentham’s Lake Cruises are an additional £3 per person, and train rides are £2.50 return.
A Quest for Adventure
Magical adventures await with the Fairy Quest Activity Pack, giving families the opportunity to search high and low to discover all 21 of Trentham’s enchanting fairies. These incredible wire sculptures, crafted by world-famous artist Robin Wight, add a touch of magic to the historic gardens. A Fairy Quest pack costs £4 and includes fairy stickers, a postcard trail, and a collectable pin badge.
Beavers at Trentham
Visitors can learn all about Trentham’s beaver family with a Beaver Activity Pack. This delightful learning experience for kids and families includes engaging activities that teach children how to spot beaver signs, understand their habitats, and appreciate their crucial role in the environment. The Beaver Activity Pack costs £4 and is an unforgettable experience for young adventurers.
Perfect pit stops
Visitors can enjoy delicious refreshments at Trentham’s tearoom Totally Delicious, or the Lakeside Café. Both locations offer a delightful selection of food and drinks with stunning views of the estate, perfect for a relaxing break amidst your adventures.
Wisteria Trellis Walk
Visitors can immerse themselves in the breathtaking beauty of the Wisteria Trellis Walk, now in full bloom. Offering an enchanting experience for all the senses, the Wisteria Trellis Walk promises to be the perfect backdrop for memorable photographs and serene strolls.
