Independent Staffordshire leather brand Kalating to open at Trentham Shopping Village
Independent Staffordshire leather-goods brand Kalating will open its new store at Trentham Shopping Village on Saturday 29 August, bringing its original collection of premium leather bags, gifts and personalisation to a physical retail setting.
Established in 2014, Kalating has spent more than a decade developing a distinctive collection of leather goods centred around original design, premium materials and timeless style.
The new Trentham store will showcase Kalating’s designs across briefcases, handbags, backpacks, wallets, washbags and leather gifts.
At the heart of the collection is the leather itself. Kalating uses carefully selected full-grain and top-grain leather, chosen for its quality, durability and natural character. The natural grain, texture and subtle variations of genuine leather give individual character to each piece and allow it to develop beautifully with age.
The bags are designed in Staffordshire, with an emphasis on creating distinctive and practical pieces that combine timeless styling with the needs of everyday life.
A New Chapter for Kalating
The Trentham opening marks an important milestone for Kalating as the brand establishes its own permanent retail presence.
Fahad Kalathingal, founder of Kalating, said: “Opening our store at Trentham is a significant moment for Kalating. Personalised Leather Gifts
Personalisation will be an important part of the new store experience.
Customers will be able to personalise selected products with initials, handwriting, text and logo engraving, creating gifts with an individual touch for birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, graduations and other special occasions.
The store will also showcase Kalating’s corporate gifting service, giving businesses the opportunity to explore leather gifts and other products that can be personalised with company branding for employees, clients and events.
Opening Celebrations – Saturday 29 August
Kalating will officially open its doors at Trentham Shopping Village on Saturday 29 August 2026, with a ribbon-cutting at 12 noon to mark the occasion.
To celebrate the launch, visitors can look forward to a range of special opening offers, including opportunities to experience Kalating’s personalisation service and enter a special opening-weekend prize draw.
The Kalating team added: “We want the opening weekend to be a celebration and an opportunity for people to come in, meet us, handle the products and discover the Kalating brand.
