Porcelain tradition meets contemporary art and popular culture in Lladró’s striking New Concept collection, which is now available to discover in person at Glazed Art.

Bringing together generations of Spanish porcelain craftsmanship with bold contemporary design, the collection includes imaginative interpretations of some of popular culture’s most recognisable characters. Spider-Man, Donald Duck and Bugs Bunny are transformed into meticulously handcrafted porcelain artworks, alongside Japanese artist Jun Oson’s distinctive interpretation of Lladró’s iconic The Guest.

These are far more than character figures. Each creation involves an extraordinary level of artistry, from individually moulded and hand-assembled porcelain elements to intricate decoration and multiple firings. The limited-edition Spider-Man sculpture, for example, required more than three months of technical development and captures the character against an Art Deco-inspired tribute to New York.

Several pieces in the collection are produced in limited or numbered editions and are already attracting considerable interest among collectors. Their growing desirability has also led to some pieces being offered online at significantly increased prices.
