Thousands of families attended Trentham’s free-entry 20th Anniversary celebration

Over 8000 locals attended the free family event where Staffordshire and Midlands Emergency Services led celebrations to raise money for Dougie Mac.

Trentham celebrated a special milestone with a free entry event on Saturday 18th May, marking its 20th anniversary with an Emergency Services Community Day in partnership with Dougie Mac. The day saw over 8000 people visit the award-winning gardens, and over £6000 was raised for Dougie Mac and other on-site charities that took part in the day.

The day was packed with exciting activities suitable for all ages including demonstrations, fairground rides and live entertainment which was thoroughly enjoyed by all who attended. Local community groups provided the live entertainment including Dappa Dance, Waterside Primary Angela Beardmore School of Dance, Rooftops Studios and Florence Brass Band.

Visitors had the chance to meet Trentham’s teams including the gardeners, wildlife rangers and the artist behind Trentham’s wire fairy sculptures Robin Wight. Attendees also had the opportunity to see Bobie the remote-control police car, sit in a real police vehicle and fire engine, and meet various emergency service mascots.

Representatives from Stoke City Community Trust, Olcote Sanctuary, AED Donate, Raynet, Samaritans, The Edward Foundation, Greyhound Gap, Windmills Acute Bereavement Service, Survivors of Bereavement, Midlands Air Ambulance, and PAU Run & Ride were present to showcase their services and educate event goers on their vital work.

Senior Director of Trentham, Alastair Budd, said, “We were thrilled to celebrate our milestone birthday by throwing open our doors to thousands of people to enjoy all that Trentham has to offer this weekend! We are so proud to have shared this exciting day with so many important community organisations, and it was a fantastic chance for us to show our thanks and celebrate what makes Staffordshire great whilst raising money for incredible local charities.”

Trentham was proud to host this community-focused event for their 20th anniversary, emphasising the spirit of cooperation and appreciation for those who serve and protect the community, while also giving visitors a chance to explore the unique historic visitor attraction for free.

Trentham would like to give a huge thanks to their sponsors for the day, Abzorbed Events, HSL and Bookers Wholesale.
