Day Ticket Terms & Conditions

1. Introduction
Welcome to Trentham Gardens which is owned and operated by Trentham Leisure Limited (referred to in these terms as “we,” “us,” “our”).
These terms (“Terms”) govern the purchase of day tickets (“Day Tickets”), event tickets (“Event Tickets“) and early bird tickets (“Early Bird Tickets“) as described in more detail below, all of which allow entry into Trentham Gardens (“Garden”) and all of which can be purchased via our visitor centre or online via our website.
By purchasing Day Tickets, Early Bird Tickets or Event Tickets (or otherwise entering the Garden), you are agreeing to be bound by these Terms. Please read them carefully before proceeding with any purchase or entry into the Garden. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you should refrain from purchasing Day Tickets, Early Bird Tickets or Event Tickets or and/or entering the Garden.
Day Tickets, Early Bird Tickets and Event Tickets are only available for purchase by individuals aged 18 or over. If you are under 18 or unable to legally enter into a contract, please seek assistance from a parent or guardian.
Please note that separate terms and conditions apply to our memberships – for more information regarding those and/or information regarding our memberships, please ask our staff in the visitor centre or consult our website.
2. How to find the Garden
The Garden is located at Stone Road, Trentham, ST4 8JG. For further details or travel inquiries, please refer to our website and/or contact us through our Contact Us page.
3. Use of Our Website
By using our website, you agree to comply with our website terms of use which can be found on our website. Please review those carefully as they contain important terms governing your use of our website.
4. Privacy and Personal Information
We are committed to protecting your privacy. Our privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your personal information. Please review that carefully before disclosing personal information to us.
5. Ticket Types
We offer the following types of tickets:
- Day Tickets: these are valid for entry to the Garden on the specified date and time. They are subject to these Terms and will not be available at dates and times when we are running specific events or activities – to confirm whether your visit is on one of those dates and times, please do check our website as you may require one of our Event Tickets.
- Early Bird Tickets: these are discounted Day Tickets which are only available online and when purchased 48 hours in advance of your visit. Like our Day Tickets, these are valid for entry to the Garden on the specified date and time. They are subject to these Terms and only not be available at dates and times when we are running specific events or activities – to confirm whether your visit is on one of those dates and times, please do check our website as you may require one of our Event Tickets.
- Event Tickets: these will be required if you want to visit the Garden at a date and time when we are running one of our special events or activities– to confirm whether your visit is on one of those dates and times, please do check our website as you may require one of our Event Tickets. Our events and activities may be subject to additional terms and conditions (which will be communicated to you separately where applicable) and/or may be exclusive to guests with memberships. For more information on this please speak to our staff at the visitor centre and/or consult our website.
Please check our website before you travel for opening times and dates as well as details of any special events or activities that are scheduled so that you know what tickets will be available for when you expect to visit.
6. Admission to the Garden
The Garden is situated on private property. All persons entering the Garden must either:
- pay for admission by purchasing one of the tickets outlined above or by purchasing a membership; or
- be otherwise permitted to enter the Garden as a result of one of the promotional schemes outlined below.
Tickets and memberships cab be obtained from our visitor centre or purchased online via our website.
You should not purchase tickets/vouchers/memberships from anyone other than Trentham Leisure Ltd as those tickets/vouchers/memberships will not be valid or entitle you to enter the Garden.
The last admission to the Garden is one hour before the Garden’s advertised closing time which can be confirmed at our visitor centre or on our website. You will not be able to enter the Garden after that time.
7. Ticket Purchase and Confirmation
A binding contract is formed when you pay for your ticket at our visitor centre or, if you have booked online via our website, when we send you a confirmation email after your order is placed. Please check your order carefully before paying at our visitor centre or confirming your order on our website, as once a contract is formed, no changes can be made.
Day Tickets, Event Tickets and Early Bird Tickets are for personal use and cannot be used for any commercial purpose.
8. Ticket Resales and Refunds
All tickets are non-transferable, not for resale, and will become automatically void on any transfer for value.
All tickets purchased at our visitor centre are non-refundable unless we, at our sole discretion, decide otherwise.
If you buy your tickets online, via our website, you are legally entitled to request a refund within 14 days of your purchase. You will lose that right if you enter the Garden before the expiry of that 14 day period and no refunds will be given after that 14 day period has expired.
9. Prices and Price Criteria
Ticket prices are displayed at our visitor centre and are also available on our website. We may change those prices from time to time without notice so please do check the current price before purchasing your tickets. Any price changes will not affect orders that have already been confirmed.
Ticket prices will vary depending on who the tickets are being purchased for:
- An adult Day Ticket, Early Bird Ticket or Event Ticket is for persons aged 16 and over.
- A senior citizen Day Ticket, Early Bird Ticket or Event Ticket is for people aged 60 years and over.
- A student Day Ticket, Early Bird Ticket or Event Ticket is a person who is currently a student.
- A child Day Ticket, Early Bird Ticket or Event Ticket is for people aged between 3 and 15 years inclusive.
- Children under 3 years of age go free.
- A carer is an individual accompanying an accessible adult or child (this is a free ticket which is only available as part of our accessibility offer detailed at section 9 below).
Eligibility for purchasing a student ticket must be demonstrated by producing a valid NUS card.
Eligibility for purchasing a carer ticket must be demonstrated by producing one of with the following documents:
- Disability Living Allowance (DLA) for children under 16, or DLA/Personal Independence Payments (PIP) for those aged 16-64, either in the form of an award letter or the actual Allowance book.
- Attendance Allowance or Carer’s Allowance award letter.
- Incapacity Benefit books or an award notification letter.
- Employment Support Allowance (ESA), Disability Student’s Allowance (DSA), or a UK Disabled ID Card (DID).
- A valid Blue Badge.
- For visual impairment, a registration card known as the BD8 or a Certificate of Visual Impairment (CVI).
- Credibility’s Access Card with the carer/companion symbol.
9. Promotions, Discounts, and Offers
We run various promotions, discounts and offers from time to time. Additional terms may apply in respect of those promotions, discounts and offers – please do check whether that is the case by asking at our visitor centre or consulting our website.
We reserve the right to change the terms of any promotion, discount or offer at any time. So again, please do check our website for the latest terms to ensure you are looking at the correct version.
Promotions, discounts and/or offers must be used separately and may not be combined with other promotions, discounts or offers.
- Accessibility: an accessible adult (16+) or child (under 16) can bring a carer for FREE! Proof of eligibility for a free carer ticket will be requested and will be asked to provide one of the documents listed in section 7 above. We will admit 1 carer for free with 1 paying guest when eligibility is confirmed. Additional carers and/or other members of your group will need to buy their own tickets.
- Trentham Gift Vouchers: these can be used to purchase Day Tickets or Early Bird Tickets either online or at the visitor centre. Please be aware additional gift voucher terms apply to the purchase of such gift vouchers.
- Tesco Clubcard Vouchers: these can be used to purchase memberships (as explained in our separate membership terms), but they cannot be used to purchase Day Ticket’s, Early Bird Tickets or Event Tickets.
- Blue Peter Badge Offer: We are part of the Blue Peter Badge scheme. This means that we will allow Blue Peter Badge holders aged 5-15 to enter the Gardens free of charge if they are accompanied by an adult who has purchased one of our Day Tickets from our visitor centre. This offer cannot be used for online purchases or on days where we are running special events/activities or on Bank Holidays. As explained above, please check our website before you travel for details of any special events or activities that are scheduled. Guests must bring their Blue Peter Photocard and present that to our staff for inspection. Please note a badge alone will not be accepted as proof of eligibility for this offer. We will admit up to 2 Blue Peter Badge photocard holders with 1 paying adult.
- RHS Offer: Trentham is an RHS partner. This means that free access to the Garden is available on selected dates for RHS members. Those dates will be advertised on the RHS website. Certain dates including Bank Holiday are excluded from the offer – please do therefore check our website for details. RHS terms and conditions apply in addition to these Terms. Where a joint RHS membership has been purchased this will allow free access to just one RHS member. Any additional RHS members and their guests will need to purchase a Day Ticket by visiting the front desk at the visitor’s centre. This offer cannot be used for online purchases. RHS members wishing to use this offer need to bring their physical membership card and present that to our staff for inspection. Please note emails are not accepted as proof of RHS membership.
- Gold Free Ticket Offer: For customers buying gold/platinum memberships we will provide free tickets. Those gold tickets entitle the holder to a free day out in the Garden. They cannot be used on special event/activity days or Bank Holidays so please do check our website before you travel to determine whether they can be used on the day that you wish to visit. These tickets can only be used for one visit.
- Rainy Day Return Discount Offer: you may be entitled to a “50%” discount on a Day Ticket for a return visit if you are returning after visiting the Garden on a “rainy day” (to be determined by us in accordance with our separate rainy day return discount offer terms). Please see our additional rainy day return discount offer terms for more detail to understand how this promotion works.
- Other Offers: We may run other offers for selected customers. These will have their own terms. Guests will be required to obtain a ticket at the visitor’s centre desk even if they zero priced tickets.
10. Payment
Payment for Day Tickets, Early Bird Tickets and/or Event Tickets can be made using Visa, Mastercard, Visa Debit, Visa Electron, or Maestro. We don’t accept AMEX payments.
Payment may also be made, for tickets purchased at our visitor centre only, in cash at our visitor centre. Payment by cheque will not be accepted.
11. Delivery and Collection
Day Tickets, Early Bird Tickets and Event Ticket purchased at our visitor centre will be provided in physical copy.
Day Tickets, Early Bird Tickets and Event Ticket purchased online via our website will be provided electronically as e-tickets which you will be requested to show when you visit the Garden.
It is your responsibility to check the dates and times at which your ticket will entitle you to enter the Garden and the accuracy of your booking upon receipt.
12. Extreme Weather
In exceptional circumstances (for example, heavy snow, ice or high winds), we may need to close the Garden (or parts of it).
If this occurs whilst you are at the Garden, we will notify you and let you know your options such as participating in our rainy day return discount offer, rescheduling or a refund (with a view, of course, to your rights under applicable consumer law);.

13. Events Outside Our Control
If we are unable to let you access the Garden due to other events outside our control such as strikes, lock-outs or other industrial action by third parties, civil commotion, riot, invasion, terrorist attack or threat of terrorist attack, war (whether declared or not) or threat or preparation for war, civil disturbance, government action, fire, explosion, storm, flood, earthquake, subsidence, epidemic, pandemic or other natural disaster, or failure of public or private telecommunications networks, travel restrictions or impossibility of the use of shipping, aircraft, motor transport or other means of public or private transport, we will:
- if this occurs whilst you are at the Garden, notify you and let you know your options such as participating in our rainy day return discount offer, rescheduling or a refund (with a view, of course, to your rights under applicable consumer law); and
- close the Garden and update our website and social pages.

14. Lost or Stolen Tickets
Day Tickets, Early Bird Tickets and Event Tickets are the responsibility of the purchaser. We do not issue duplicates or replacements for lost or stolen tickets.
15. Site Rules
You will be expected to comply with our site rules during your visit to the Garden:
- Visitor Conduct: All visitors must comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Children: Children aged 15 years and under must be always accompanied by a responsible aged adult (16+). Toddler’s bikes are permitted in the gardens and lakeside area for children aged 4 and under only. Scooters are permitted, at walking pace, for age 10 and under. Children must be closely supervised at all times.
- Dogs: Dogs are permitted into all areas except the Italian Garden Tearoom, Lakeside Café, Adventure Play areas and Barefoot Walk, subject to them being kept on a 2 metre short lead and under strict control at all times. Owners are responsible for cleaning up after their dogs. Dogs are not permitted within the lake.
- Drones: We don’t permit any kind of drone on-site or in our shopping village. All requests for any drone flights must be applied in writing to us to obtain prior permission to fly.
- Wildlife: We ask that all visitors keep their distance from all wildlife on site and give them the respect they deserve. Please do not feed the waterfowl on the lake and observe all signage and interpretation regarding no access to sensitive wildlife areas such as the lake margins. We ask that visitors do not collect and take any natural materials home, take only photographs and leave only footprints. Foraging for personal consumption and/or commercial use is not permitted on the estate
16. Rights to Refuse Entry
We, reserve the right to refuse your entry to the Garden and/or ban you from entry to the Garden and/or remove you from the Garden without giving you a refund if:
- your presence or behaviour may affect or is affecting the enjoyment and/or safety of our other visitors, guests or staff;
- we feel that you are acting in an inappropriate and/or undesirable manner or we have received reports of you demonstrating such behaviour whilst travelling to the Garden whether by bus, coach or other means;
- we discover that you have been convicted of a criminal offence which we feel may place our other visitors, guests or staff at risk;
- you have behaved inappropriately at the Garden on a previous visit;
- you use violent, aggressive, threatening, abusive, discriminatory or insulting words or behaviour or in any way behaves in a manner which may provoke a breach of the peace;
- there are health, safety, or security reasons for denying your entry or removing you;
- you climb or stand on fences, barriers, walls, rock arrangements, structures, exhibits or any other buildings within the Garden;
- you breach these Terms (including for example by using drones or carrying out professional photography or filming within the Garden without our permission); or
- you fail to comply with the site rules detailed in section 15 above.
We reserve the right to initiate legal proceedings or prosecute any person found:
- damaging or defacing any part of the grounds, fences, barriers, walls, structures, exhibits, fabrics or buildings at the Garden or displaying any sign or visible representation of any kind which is, or could be reasonably judged to be, threatening, abusive or insulting; or
- found attempting to regain admission to the Garden or found inside the Garden without a valid Day Ticket or Event Ticket or Membership (including where that person has purchased or obtained any tickets or discount vouchers from a ticket tout or any other unauthorised source) unless permitted to do so as a result of a promotion we are running.
If you are in breach of any of these Terms and you are a member of a group, then we may decide to refuse entry and/or ban entry to and/or remove all members of such group at our discretion without any right to a refund.
17. Security
Security checks may be conducted at entry points. Please be prepared to participate in bag inspections and please do not bring any items that could present a risk to the safety of our other guests to the Garden as you will not be allowed to enter with those.
18. Photography, Videography and CCTV
Photography for personal use is permitted within the Garden, except on special event days where it may be restricted (there will be signs in the Garden indicating if this applies).
Professional photography or filming requires prior our approval and we may ask you to pay a fee to use the Garden for this. Drones are strictly prohibited unless we have given our prior permission. Photography for casual shoots, such as family or pet shoots, is allowed if you have obtained our prior permission and paid the required fee. Formal wedding or engagement photoshoots are restricted to those married at Trentham, and these again require prior approval. Please email events@trentham.co.uk for pre-authorisation with regards to any formal photoshoots.
CCTV cameras are used to assist in the proper running and operation of the estate (including to assist with the safety and security of our visitors, staff and property). However, we do not make any representation or give any assurance as to the extent of coverage provided by such cameras.
From time to time, we and third parties to whom we have provided our express authority may take photographs and/or video recordings of and/or sound recordings at, the Trentham Estate (including in the Garden, car parks and surrounding areas, as well as at events). If it is likely that you will be captured in such photographs or recordings, our staff will approach you and ask whether you consent to the same.
By giving your consent, you agree that we or our authorised third party may use such images, video recordings and/or sound recordings in promotional, marketing, advertising or publicity material in any format and on any media channels whatsoever. You further agree that all copyright and any other intellectual property rights that subsist in or arise out of these materials shall be absolutely owned by us or such authorised third party (subject to our agreement) as the case may be.
Please be assured that extra steps will be taken to obtain your consent if you are accompanied by a minor who may also be captured in the photographs or recordings.
19. Car Parking
On-site parking is available but not guaranteed. Parking is free of charge and is available on a first come first served basis. Vehicles are parked at the owner’s risk and we are not responsible for any loss or damage to vehicles or any items within them whilst the vehicles are parked on our premises.
20. Events and activities – Changes and/or cancellations
We may alter, reschedule, or cancel any of our events or activities for operational or safety reasons. If this occurs, we will notify you if you have purchased a ticket for that event or activity and provide options such as rescheduling or a refund where applicable.
Please note that additional terms may apply to specific events or activities. We will communicate any such terms to you in advance.
21. Liability – Please read this section carefully
We do not limit in any way our liability for:
- death or personal injury caused by our negligence;
- fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or
- any other liability which we are not permitted to exclude under applicable law.
Day Tickets, Event Tickets and Early Bird Tickets are for personal use and cannot be purchased or used for any business or commercial purpose without our consent.
If you are purchasing tickets as a consumer and we fail to comply with these Terms, whilst we do not exclude our liability in any way that it is not lawful to do so, we will not be responsible for any loss or damage that you suffer as a result of your failure to comply with these Terms including the site rules, any signage displayed at the Garden and/or any instructions we may give you during your visit for your own safety. We will also not be responsible for any loss or damage you incur due to the acts, omissions or negligence of other visitors or due to your own acts, omissions or negligence.
If you are purchasing tickets as a business and/or for any commercial, business purpose, your tickets must only be used for employees of your business, and you agree not to use (or allow your employees to use) the Day Tickets, Early Bird Tickets or Event Tickets for any resale purposes. We will under no circumstances be liable to you or your employees, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty, or otherwise arising under or in connection with the sale of tickets to you or entry into the Garden to you or your employees for:
- any loss of profits, sales, business or revenue;
- business interruption;
- loss or corruption of data, information or software;
- loss of anticipated savings;
- loss of business opportunity, goodwill or reputation; or
- any indirect or consequential loss or damage.
Our total liability to you and your employees in respect of any and all losses arising under or in connection with the sale of tickets to you or your employees entry into the Garden, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty, or otherwise, shall in no circumstances exceed the purchase price of the Day Tickets, Early Bird Tickets or Event Tickets sold to you.
Except as expressly stated in these Terms, we do not give any representation, warranties or undertakings in relation to the Day Tickets, Early Bird Tickets or Event Tickets. Any representation, condition or warranty that might be implied or incorporated into these Terms by statute, common law or otherwise is excluded to the fullest extent permitted by law.
We will not be responsible for ensuring that the Day Tickets, Early Bird Tickets or Event Tickets are suitable for your purposes.
22. Discount on Membership Upgrades
We offer various memberships to the Garden as well as discounts on the price of those memberships if visitors choose to purchase them after visiting the Garden using a Day Ticket. Please review our membership terms carefully before proceeding with upgrading a Day Ticket to a membership and/or purchasing a membership in any way.
You may be entitled to a discount on a membership to the Garden if you:
attended the Garden using a Day Ticket (and regardless of whether it was a rainy day); purchase your membership within 7 days of your visit; and
are able to prove (b) above by providing us with a copy of your Day Ticket.
If you are eligible to a discount on a membership after visiting us on a using a Day Ticket, that discount will be equivalent to the price that you paid to purchase your Day Ticket unless you have already used your original Day Ticket to purchase a further Day Ticket using our rainy day return discount offer, in which case it will be equivalent to the reduced price that you paid to purchase your second Day Ticket.
This offer can only be claimed by customers who purchase a membership upgrade at our visitors’ centre. It cannot be used for online purchases.
23. Changes to These Terms
We may update or modify these Terms at any time. Any changes will be posted on our website. It is your responsibility to check the website to review the latest Terms before purchasing your tickets. Any changes to the Terms will not affect orders that have already been confirmed.

26. Governing Law
Please note that these Terms and any disputes in relation to them or any contract formed pursuant to them will be subject to and governed by English law.
