Retail Manager
The Purpose
Assist in the achievement of the centres’ sales and income budgets through the management and communication with retail and food and beverage occupiers, to develop targets and strategies, collaborating closely with all departments, specifically marketing and events.
Required Experience
- Experience in multi site retail management/ working for a retailer desirable.
- Merchandising Experience/ Store management experience desirable.
- Good IT skills essential and knowledge of spreadsheet management/ performance targets.
Key Accountabilities
- Create a forecast of the centre’s annual sales budgets for the business plan and carry out quarterly re-forecasts with all the relevant occupier budgets and performance information to ensure the effective delivery of client financial reporting.
- Produce weekly and quarterly sales and performance reporting, for Trentham.
- Work with brands who are underachieving against budget to drive performance improvement to achieve the sales budgets from the business plan.
- Fully utilise Retail Advantage to drive, analyse, prioritise and improve profitability and exceed annual operational budgets.
- Championing the highest service and operational standards throughout the centre, in order to help brand partners to meet sales budgets and support the growth of the centre as a destination offering a premium level of service throughout.
- Support Realm HQ and leasing teams by identifying trading opportunities with occupiers.
- Ensure that brands are carrying sufficient stock and have an effective replenishment system to support sales targets.
- Support the leasing team with site visits for new potential occupiers, including compiling performance information to support the case for a brand to open at the centre.
- Develop and maintain high standards of visual merchandising and provide guidance to stores where required, ensuring that consistency and effectiveness are maintained and that aesthetic standards are achieved. Directly manage or support any visual merchandising resource that may be required from time to time.
- Carry out induction training meetings to ensure new stores and/or new store managers are aligned with the operational and service standards at Trentham.
- In close liaison with occupiers and the leasing team, develop and update a re-fit plan in order to maintain a high standard of store environments. Work with the Operations Director to manage store fit-out programmes to ensure an efficient and timely programme.
- Work with a network of strong local partners/clients to drive mall commercialisation income.
- Develop a Retail Manager Forum, supporting the retailers through sharing best practice and supporting new store openings and continuing store development.
- Attend the weekly marketing meeting to ensure that there is a focused retail marketing program ensuring sales are maximised.
- Work in conjunction with the events team to ensure retail obtains maximum benefit from event attendees.
