Ambassadors Discover Wildlife Wonders on Dusk Beaver Safari with We Are Staffordshire

On Wednesday 3 September, We Are Staffordshire hosted a special Ambassador event at Trentham, bringing together local leaders, stakeholders and champions of the county for an evening of collaboration and learning at one of Staffordshire’s most picturesque natural environments.

The event began with refreshments and networking, offering the chance to share ideas and build connections, before guests embarked on an award-winning Dusk Beaver Safari. The experience highlighted Staffordshire’s commitment to supporting biodiversity, rewilding the landscape and restoring natural habitats.

Armed with binoculars, Ambassadors set out to spot beavers in action and witness firsthand the positive impact these fascinating animals are having on the ecosystem. The experience proved both inspiring and educational, shining a light on Staffordshire’s rich natural environment and underlining the importance of working together to protect and promote it.

Thanks to the generosity of attendees, the event raised £255, which has been donated to the Beaver Trust to support their vital work restoring beaver populations and creating thriving, nature-rich landscapes across the UK.

Hannah Ault DL, Chair of We Are Staffordshire’s Place Board, said:

“The ambassador experience at The Trentham Estate provided a unique opportunity for our ambassadors to see the beavers in their natural habitat – it’s powerful reminder of the incredibly varied assets we have across the county that make up our proud Staffordshire Story and that equips them to shout about our offer far and wide.

“Thank you once again to our Patrons at Trentham for collaborating with us to put on such an inspiring and interesting event for our Ambassadors, giving them the opportunity to explore the Estate, make new connections, discover more about sustainability and biodiversity.”

Alastair Budd, Senior Director at Trentham, added:

“We are proud to showcase how nature and people can thrive side by side here at Trentham. Welcoming the We Are Staffordshire Ambassadors for this safari was a fantastic way to demonstrate the importance of biodiversity and the role we can all play in protecting and restoring our landscapes.”

Jolene Macnaughton, Senior Fundraising Officer at Beaver Trust noted:

“A big thank you to We are Staffordshire and Trentham for raising this money for Beaver Trust. Our mission is to restore beavers to regenerate our landscapes, and this donation will help us take the next steps.”

This event was part of the We Are Staffordshire Ambassador programme, which continues to provide unique opportunities to explore, engage with, and champion all that our county has to offer.
