Services Manager

The Purpose

To oversee and manage the facility services and event support across the estate including retail, garden and wider estate areas, supporting the Retail Manager, Maintenance Manager, Head of Events and Marketing and Gardens Manager in achieving the highest standards across the Estate. In addition to the above this role will also take responsibility for outdoor activity delivery – this will include Boat, Disc Golf, Barefoot Walk, Maze and all Playground areas. Form part of the facility and duty management team for the entire estate.

Required Experience

  • Operational understanding and experience of delivering maintenance and facility services in a multi-use environment.
  • Competency through suitable experience and supporting qualifications to deliver a number of aspects identified in the key accountabilities.
  • A sound understanding of planned preventative maintenance scheduling in line with SFG20.
  • Knowledge of FM systems and practices with experience in supplier management.
  • Good IT skills including a working knowledge of Excel and Word.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of Health & Safety regulations, ideally with NEBOSH qualification.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and be able to work on your own initiative largely unsupervised.
  • Capable of problem solving and ability to resolve operational issues quickly and effectively.

Facility Services

Outdoor Activity

  • To oversee and manage all operational Outdoor Activity services which includes Boat, Train, Disc Golf, Playgrounds, Barefoot Walk, and any further activities added in due course.
  • Ensure compliance checks are carried out and any issues identified reported for all outdoor activity areas and equipment.

Events

  • To provide operational support to the Events team.
  • Ensure the service team support the set up and break down of events as required.
  • Ensure the Service team support the operational management as required.
  • Ensure compliance checks are carried out and any issues identified reported to the events manager.

General Responsibilities 

  • People management of all operatives within the services structure
  • Provide Health and Safety support and ensuring the site is compliant with latest health and safety legislation.
  • Contract management, tendering works and liaison with all contractors.
  • Ensure suitable and sufficient procurement is in place for consumables.
  • Support the drive towards a sustainable operation and net carbon zero goals.
  • To assist the events team when planning for events to ensure effective operational and facilities services are provided.
  • To act as operational duty manager as required.
  • To act as operational event lead as required.

In relation to generic responsibilities:

  • Maintain knowledge and adhere to relevant Group Policies and Procedures, Legislation and Regulations
  • Develop and ensure safe working practices across teams.
